HERRON PREP Registration

UPDATE (8/28/24): Registration is FULL for the 2nd-3rd grade program on Mondays and the 4th-6th grade program on Wednesdays.

Thank you for your interest in Chess Club at Herron Preparatory Academy! Indy Chess is excited to offer this program on...

  • 2nd to 3rd Grade: Monday afternoons beginning August 26 until December 16, 2024* from 3:20 to 4:30pm

  • 4th to 6th Grade:  Wednesday afternoons beginning August 28 until December 18, 2024 from 3:20pm to 4:30pm.

*The two clubs will not meet the dates of October 9 or 14 Fall Break, nor November 25 or 27 (Thanksgiving). The Monday group will not meet September 2 for Labor Day.

Siblings in different grades may request to attend the same day (preferably Wednesday). Both clubs will meet in a new Science Lab room on the 1st floor.

The cost is $129 per semester.  There is a limit of 18 spots in each club.  Up to six of the spots are reserved at no cost for students on free/reduced lunch (just fill out form and choose the pay manually option).  Questions?  Email info@indychess.org.  The chess club will be taught by a new Indy Chess representative this year: USCF-certified chess instructor Coach Mike Gant, who has 30+ years experience teaching chess in schools and is the current Club Champion of Indy Chess!
