Thank you for your interest in Chess Club at George W. Julian School 57!  Indy Chess is excited to offer this program on Tuesday afternoons beginning September 10, 2024 until December 17, 2024 from 4pm to 5pm in the Media Center.  The club will not meet on October 15 (fall break) or November 26 (Thanksgiving week).  Students in grades  3rd to 5th grade are eligible to participate.  There is no cost to register thanks to some limited grant funding Indy Chess received to help kids that qualify for free/reduced lunch, but parents/guardians able may make a free will offering of any amount at indychess.org/donate if they choose (for reference, the workbooks cost $15 and this program is valued at $129/semester at schools with no grant funding).  Questions?  Email info@indychess.org.  The chess club will be taught by USCF-certified chess instructor Mike Gant, who has more than 30 years experience coaching chess in schools!
