Thank you for your interest in the Chess Team at St. Monica Catholic School!  Indy Chess is excited to coach and coordinate the chess program on Monday afternoons from to August 17, 2026 to December 14, 2026 from 3:00pm to 4:10pm.

Students in grades 1st to 8th grade are eligible to participate, and the program meets in the Holy Family Room (pick up kids at the main school entrance by the rotunda) on any day that school is in session.  The cost is $149 per semester, which includes workbook materials.  Up to six spots are reserved at no cost for students on public assistance (e.g., SNAP).  To apply for a scholarship spot, just fill out form and choose the "pay offline" option at checkout.  Questions?  Email info@indychess.org.  The chess club will be taught by USCF-certified chess instructor Mike Chapuran, who also founded Indy Chess, is a USCF-certified chess coach, a 1650+ peak rated player, and has run more than 300 tournaments.

Students in the chess program have the option to compete on the St. Monica CYO Chess Team!  There will be five Wednesday matches in late September and all of October, and a season-ending tournament on a Saturday in early November.  That schedule will be sent as soon as it is available.  There is a CYO fee of $54/student, plus a T-shirt cost if a new uniform is needed.
